Terms of use
The ground rules for using CityFunIndex, in plain language. Using the site means you are happy with what follows.
Using the site
CityFunIndex is free to browse for personal, informational use. You are welcome to read it, share links to it, and reference its scores with attribution.
Plans, billing and cancellation
Browsing is free. CityFunIndex also offers paid plans — a downloadable Data plan, a Pro AI plan, and licensed API plans for commercial use — described with current prices on the pricing and API pages. Accounts, payment and invoicing are handled by the CondorBox umbrella through its payment processor; by subscribing you also accept the umbrella’s checkout terms.
Paid plans are subscriptions that renew each billing period until you cancel. You can cancel any time from your account; cancelling stops the next renewal and your access continues to the end of the period you have already paid for. Prices may change with notice, but a change never applies to a period you have already paid for.
Licensing the data
A paid Data or API plan licenses you to use CityFunIndex’s derived data — the per-city Fun Scores, factor scores, percentiles and the aggregate measurements we compute. It does not transfer ownership, and how broadly you may use it (personal evaluation, commercial use, white-labelling, or offline / bulk delivery) depends on the plan you hold, as set out on the API page.
What you license is our own computed output, not the data behind it. The licensed dataset contains only city-level aggregate values and scores — never the raw third-party records they are derived from (no individual place listings, addresses, ratings or reviews from any provider). You may not resell or redistribute it in a way that reconstructs, substitutes for, or competes with an original source’s own dataset, and you may not strip CityFunIndex attribution. Commercial use requires a plan that grants it.
The Fun Score is an estimate
The Fun Score is a model, not a verdict. It is built to be useful and transparent, but it is one opinionated summary of public data — not a guarantee. Please do not rely on it as the sole basis for a major decision such as moving, buying property or investing. Treat it as a starting point for your own research.
Data and accuracy
Scores are derived from a mix of public datasets, openly licensed data and licensed commercial APIs — the full source list is on the methodology page. Third-party data can contain gaps and errors. The site is provided “as is”, without warranty of accuracy or completeness.
What belongs to whom
The CityFunIndex name, the “Fun Score”, the scoring methodology and the design of this site belong to CityFunIndex. The underlying public data belongs to its original sources, credited on the methodology page.
Fair use
Please do not scrape the site at a scale that disrupts it, attempt to break or overload it, or present its content as your own. Automated bulk access is not permitted without prior arrangement.
Changes to these terms
These terms may change as CityFunIndex develops. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
